Therapists

My mission is to ensure a safe and secure space where you feel comfortable being your authentic self. As humans, we are the most knowledgeable about what’s best for us in our lives; however, sometimes, we need some guidance. I would love to help guide you through the path of self-discovery, awareness, and well-being.

I strive to be an active guide that will walk beside you on your journey to heal what is hurting. I am a person-centered and holistically focused therapist who is committed to collaborating. I provide a safe space for all to feel empowered, gain insight, and learn skills to get through difficult stages. If you are looking for someone who gets it, I would be happy to connect!

I am currently a Certified Counselor completing my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health at Adam’s State University. My therapeutic orientation integrates many facets of different theories from person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, and common factors, to psychodynamic. However, I do not believe that one orientation suites every individual. We do not all fit into a cookie cutter. There may be those that benefit from incorporating interventions from different theories. I have also been inspired by Buddhist philosophy which integrates with this field nicely. People need to be looked at as a whole not just as a label or condition. Therapy should be a safe space with nonjudgment and an emphasis on compassion and empathy.

I want you to feel heard and accepted. I am here to meet you where you are at. The client is the expert in their life, and I am here to serve as a guide to whatever journey you may be on. While therapy can involve heavy or deep conversations, I think it is important to be able to laugh at times. We are human at the end of the day. Therapy is also a place where we can grow. I look forward to being witnessed to the growth and the road of this therapeutic alliance journey.

I profoundly respect that you’re searching for help. It takes boldness and courage to make the decision to reach out for support, and I do not take that lightly. I’m a Master’s in Clinical Psychology student at City University of Seattle and will be graduating in June

I have experience working with clients facing challenges with depression, anxiety, family issues, romantic relationship issues, abuse, meaning, spiritual issues, career change, and many other of life’s stressors. The therapeutic environment I create is a compassionate, empathetic, calm, safe, trustworthy space where you can be your genuine self. You will be heard. You will be respected. And we’ll collaborate together toward your goals, and help you find life satisfaction and peace.

Welcome! I believe that everyone has the capacity for growth and healing. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, life transitions, challenges in your relationships, or doing your best to overcome adversity or trauma, I’m here to help! Sometimes our thoughts and emotions can make our inner world feel overwhelming and we need an outside perspective to help find calm in the chaos. You deserve a space where you can be wholly yourself and process life’s stressors, I strive to provide this within every session. I have a passion for working with both teen and adult individuals.

Each person is unique in how they think and behave, so the way in which I approach counseling with each of my clients will be unique. During our sessions I will be pulling from various counseling techniques such as, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Throughout our counseling journey I strive to provide a relaxed and open atmosphere for you, as the client, to use as a blank canvas as we begin to map out your thoughts, feelings, and emotions.

My name is Nadia Henderson, I completed my first Masters in Psychology in September 2022, and I have a BA in Human Service. I have worked in the Native America community as a teacher and in various other roles for 15 years. I have also worked with the developmentally disabled population since 2006. I worked both jobs while completing my education and building my family. I have always had a passion for helping people and felt that the counseling field would offer me that purpose.

I started working my way into the counseling field by volunteering at the Rescue mission and at my church helping individuals however I could. In June of 2022, I took a leap of faith, ended my time at the school, and began pursuing work in the counseling field and was led to Puyallup Psychotherapeutic Alliance where I am currently working with a wide array of individuals.

My focus is person-centered therapy, which means I guide the client to take control of their mental health and establish autonomy while I help support them emotionally. I work towards creating a safe space for individuals to explore their ideas and feelings. Attending therapy is the first step in empowering oneself to make a change.

I am an active volunteer with the LGBTQIA+ community and do volunteer work with a queer youth center, which gives me the opportunity to interact with individuals who are trans and those who may be questioning their sexual identity. I also run a therapeutic D&D group for adults suffering from anxiety and/or depression.

In the journey towards inner peace and self-acceptance, I aspire to be an empathetic listener and guide to explore your inner world. Together we can discover unconscious patterns and work with one another to shape your life in a conscious and intentional ways.

Honoring individual journeys through client-centered and psychodynamic orientation, I hope to guide others towards embracing their authentic selves and healing from their core wounds with compassion and openness. Drawn towards Buddhist psychology, cultivating mindfulness and body-centered practices can help others discover true freedom comes from understanding and accepting our nature and experiences.

By acknowledging your feelings, physical symptoms, and thoughts without judgment, you create a space where self-compassion can flourish, and change can begin. I wish to create a safe and nonjudgmental space for you to embrace this moment as it is, with kindness and patience towards yourself so you can gently see your inner world, allowing it to unfold naturally. In this way, I would like to be part of what supports you recognizing that you have the inner resources to navigate life’s challenges and messiness with grace and resilience.

I see therapy as a collaborative process where healing begins through honest connection and mutual trust. Real change happens when we feel safe enough to show up as our full selves, and I create a space where that’s both possible and encouraged.

I bring warmth, authenticity, and a direct but compassionate style, and I view the therapeutic relationship as the foundation for meaningful growth. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, or navigating a major life transition, I offer both support and practical tools to help you create meaningful change.

My approach is flexible and client-centered, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness-based practices. I adapt my strategies based on your unique needs and goals, always working with you, not on you.

I am also deeply committed to cultural humility and creating an inclusive, affirming environment. Recognizing the ways culture, identity, and lived experience shape our understanding of ourselves and the world, I honor those complexities in our work together. At the heart of what I do is a passion for helping others move toward self-knowledge, acceptance, and empowerment.

My focus is to provide compassionate, client-centered care through a holistic therapeutic approach. I aim to integrate cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness and wellness strategies to address not only emotional and psychological concerns but also physical and social well-being. I am committed to promoting a balance between mind, body, and environment, I hope to empower clients to achieve lasting resilience and self-awareness, fostering personal growth and improved overall mental health.

Hi! I’m Sho (they/them). I believe that whatever is alive for you sets the tone of the session. Fears and anxiety can be held with empathy and reverence. Dreams, values, and identities can be explored with curiosity. Therapy is a space to move towards authenticity, and any thoughts or feelings that come up are welcome. Crying and laughter each have their place.

I use an integrative person-centered approach, drawing on several clinical theories. Your comfort level and interest determine the approach for exploration and healing: talking, making art, role-play, sharing music, or even just sitting quietly while breathing in and out are all equally valid options. I believe that the story we tell about ourselves is powerful and that it deeply impacts our wellbeing when narratives fueled by others’ judgements or criticisms tell that story instead.

Trauma can disconnect us from who we are and limit access to our hopes, dreams, and values. In therapy, you can explore things like how the past unconsciously influences the present or how your perception of safety impacts your ability to respond rather than react. Perhaps, most importantly, you can explore your relationship to your authentic self and discover who you are and who you want to be. In addition to talk therapy, I can offer EMDR, somatic therapy, and creative arts therapy.
